04/04/2007

McCormick Motors in Nappanee, Indiana was one of four winners of the USA Today Dealer Innovation Award.  The article appeared in the April 4th edition of USA Today.

Launched in 2001, in partnership with the National Automobile Dealers Association, the USA Today Dealer Innovation Award honors automobile and truck dealers who have used innovative ideas and business practices to better serve their customers, communities, and employees.  This year’s innovation award recognizes four dealerships who implemented effective initiatives to save energy, reduce utility costs and protect the environment.

Over the past eight years the dealership implemented fifteen initiatives to use, recycle or reclaim waste products and building improvements that contributed to the reduction of energy.  The initiatives resulted in a 50% reduction in the consumption of energy while at the same time reducing the amount of liquid waste by 99% and reducing solid waste taken to the land fill by 60%.

The other dealerships recognized were Hill International Trucks in Washington, PA (Grand Award Winner), Pat Lobb Toyota in McKinney, TX, and Planet Subaru in Hanover, MA.
