MCCORMICK MOTORS DONATES VAN TO THE BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF NAPPANEE
11/12/2004
Today, Boys & Girls Club of Nappanee and McCormick Motors officials announced that McCormick is donating a 2002 Chevrolet Express Van to the Club. This 15-passenger vehicle will replace the van that the Club has used for years.

“It’s hard to fully express our gratitude,” said Marcus Johnson, Unit Director at the Club. “What a wonderful gift! Our present van has served us well, but it’s got a lot of miles on it and we’ve struggled some to keep it on the road. This van will afford us with new opportunities to safely serve our children with new programs and activities,” he added.
“We’re pleased to make the donation,” said Gordon Moore of McCormick Motors. “We’ve watched the growth of the Nappanee Club, and we’re impressed with not only the number of children being served, but with the variety and quality of the programs and services that are available to children there. We’re glad we can be of support to this worthy local cause.”
McCormick is donating a 2002 Chevrolet Express Van, which seats 15 people. The Kelly Blue Book value of the van is $20,580. McCormick is also paying to have $1,500 worth of graphics applied to the vehicle, and in addition, McCormick is installing both a bug shield and a step-up, providing smaller children with easier access to the vehicle.
“If this wasn’t generous enough,” said Marcus Johnson, “McCormick is also offering free service on the vehicle for the next three years. All we have to do is put gas in it!”
The total value of McCormick’s donation is $25,000.
“Everyone who is associated with the Boys & Girls Club wants to express our deepest thank you to Bernie Beer, Gordon Moore and everyone else at McCormick Motors,” said Kevin Deary, President and CEO of the Boys Girls Club. “On their behalf, I also want to express the gratitude of our Club members and their parents. This isn’t the first time that McCormick has reached out to support the Club. The donation of the van is but the most recent in a string of thoughtful and generous contributions made by McCormick Motors to the Boys & Girls Club.”
The Boys & Girls Club of Nappanee, opened in 1998 in the old Central School building, now has almost 400 members, ages 6 through 18. Approximately 130 of these children participate in programs and activities each day at either the main Club on Marion Street or at the extension site at City Church on West Market Street.
